The £4.99 (€5.65) app, which features 70 recipes – 10 of which are new – can be voice-activated, keeping floury fingers a healthy distance away from the iPhone’s shiny screen. It also enables chefs to browse and search according to what mood they’re in, or what ingredients they have. A social feature enables cooks to send dinner invites to friends using Facebook Connect or email.

AKQA London was also responsible for creating Jamie Oliver’s hugely successful 20 Minute Meals application. This app offered 50 new recipes, 75 minutes of video and a touchscreen shopping list. Also selling at £4.99, it quickly became Apple’s most popular lifestyle app and attracted five-star reviews. The app is rumoured to have generated revenue approaching seven figures, according to Wired magazine.

This rather interesting item landed on my desk today. It’s a tea stick from qpod, pretty much a tea bag thats made of what looks like aluminum rather than leaving the bag in, you swirl the stick round in your cup to release the flavour from the leaves.
